Calla Science · Updated November 2026

Two different jobs

Celsius is a fitness energy drink in a can: 200 mg of caffeine, cold, ready to open before a workout. Calla is a daily energy drink in a stick: 150 mg of caffeine, stirred into water, with 300 mg of Micro GLP-1, an ingredient clinically studied to lower body fat. If you are choosing between them, the question is not which is better. It is which job you are hiring for.

Caffeine

200 mg is a strong single dose, and Celsius caps it at two cans a day for a reason. 150 mg sits in the range most adults can repeat every morning without sleep paying for it. Calla pairs it with 200 mg of L-theanine, which smooths the lift and is the difference between alert and wired. Celsius does not list theanine.

What Celsius has that Calla does not

A can, cold, in almost every store. A wide flavor range. Vitamin C, chromium and biotin. A blend of green tea, guarana and ginger that the brand positions around calorie burn during exercise. If what you want is a ready-to-drink can on the way to the gym, Celsius does that well.

What Calla has that Celsius does not

Micro GLP-1. In a 16-week randomized, placebo-controlled trial at 300 mg a day, active GLP-1 rose 321%, energy intake fell 17.5% and body fat fell 10.9%, all versus placebo.¹ No other energy drink carries it. Calla also states its L-theanine and taurine in milligrams rather than inside a proprietary blend, has zero calories rather than ten, and travels as a stick, which matters if your morning is an airport or a car.

Which to pick

Pick Celsius if the goal is a bigger caffeine hit before training and you like cans. Pick Calla if the goal is holding a calorie deficit day after day and you want the energy drink to help with appetite, not just alertness. Some people keep both: Calla every morning, a Celsius on heavy training days.

Price

Calla is $54.99 for thirty sticks, $1.83 a day, or $49.99 on subscription, $1.67 a day, with free shipping in the US. Celsius pricing varies by retailer and pack size.
